6th October 2015 –
Hi everybody! I just wanted to give a quick update on what I’ve been up to.
After a disappointing year, I knew that I needed a change. For me, that meant returning home to New York (and its bagels) or where it all started. With 2016 being such an important year, it’s a blessing to be able to, as my mom says, “Go back to basics.”
Now, I know for the average college kid, being at home doesn’t necessarily sound like living the dream, but it’s really been great! I’ve been taking classes at Fordham University (my dad’s alma mater) and I’m still working towards a Chemistry major.
I am still a member of the Oregon Project and Alberto Salazar is my coach. John Henwood is again helping to oversee my day-to-day training, so I’m extremely lucky to have two knowledgeable and passionate coaches.
Training has been going well and I am enjoying every moment of it. I’ve decided to do some local cross-country races this fall. I’m happy to be lacing up my spikes again.
Throughout my career, I always said the key to running well was keeping the sport fun. With the help of this great NY running community, I am happy to say that I have found that love again! I’m looking forward to a rewarding Indoor and Outdoor season.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me through the ups and downs! I hope to make 2016 a year to remember!
